Tiana A. Bey is the founder and principal attorney of Tiana A. Bey, P.C., a Maryland-based law firm proudly serving clients across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Illinois.


With nearly 14 years as a practicing attorney and over 28 years in the legal field, Ms. Bey blends courtroom strength with compassionate, client-first counsel. Her practice reflects a deep commitment to excellence, clarity, and respect for each client’s unique journey.

Her background spans top-tier large national firms, small and mid-size trial practices, and now her own values-driven boutique firm, where she focuses on providing valuable services in family law, estate planning, probate, and civil litigation.


In her prior practices, she has represented individuals, families, and international entities in a wide breadth of high-stakes civil and commercial litigation, complex international arbitrations, and sensitive family law matters throughout the United States.

    Ms. Bey’s main practice has included cases involving commercial contract disputes; copyright infringement and idea theft; international investor-state arbitrations; international arbitral award enforcement proceedings; foreign judgment enforcement, attachment, and execution proceedings in US federal courts; Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act (FSIA) Terrorism Exception litigation; and Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) litigation.


    Ms. Bey is also a published legal contributor to Global Arbitration Review (GAR) and Law360, and has authored client alerts on copyright law, foreign judgment enforcement, and suing international organizations and foreign parties

    • Represented nearly 500 plaintiffs in U.S. litigation against two foreign sovereigns designated as State Sponsors of Terrorism.

    • Secured over $1.6 billion in compensatory damages under the FSIA terrorism exception (Section 1605A).

    • Defended UK and U.S. stock-photography agencies in federal copyright litigation, achieving a favorable settlement.

    • Obtained dismissal of most claims in a California television copyright and idea-theft case through anti-SLAPP strategies.

    • Successfully challenged a $74 million arbitration award against the Republic of India under the New York Convention’s public-policy exception.

    • Helped vacate a $71 million arbitration award against Laos in SDNY using sovereign-immunity and comity defenses.

    • Vacated a UK judgment enforcement default judgment on jurisdictional and service-of-process grounds.
